Ana Patrícia Hilário is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon, Portugal. She has worked previously as a Research Assistant at the Disability and Humans Rights of Observatory, Institute of Social and Political Sciences, University of Lisbon, at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology, Lisbon University and at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon. She was a lecturer on Instituted Piaget and Open University where she taught undergraduate courses. She received her PhD in Sociology at Royal Holloway, University of London in 2015. Between 2011 and 2015 she was a board member of the European Research Network of Sociology of Health and Illness. Her main research interests focus on the sociology of health and illness, the sociology of gender and the sociology of body.
