José Pedro Cardeiro holds a MSc in Civil Engineering in the Urban Planning and Transport Planning field (IST – Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon). After working in the Engineering field, in Lisbon, he started developing his interests in European matters. He worked for the European Commission as a trainee at the DG Connect, in Luxembourg. Following that experience, he embraced the opportunity to join, as an Assistant Project Manager, the non-profit association euRobotics AISBL, in Brussels, which is the private side of the Public-Private-Partnership in Robotics with the European Commission. There, he managed the Coordination and Support Action RockEU, funded by the European Union within the 7th Framework Programme.
Between September 2014 and April 2015, he was a Horizon 2020 NCP for Societal Challenge 6, Science with and for Society, Research Infrastructures and Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation, at FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia), in Lisbon.
In May 2015, he joined the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ICS-ULisboa) where he works as a Project Officer for International Projects, such as TRANSRIGHTS.
